History of Ricoh

The company was founded in 1936 by Kenichi Sasaki as Riken Kankōshi Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of photographic paper. In 1950, it released the first Japanese projector. In 1955, it launched its first copier. In the 1960s, the company began manufacturing office equipment. In the 1990s, Ricoh became a global leader in digital copiers and MFPs. Today, the company actively develops managed print services and digital document workflow transformation.
