The passport-visa document reader «SPV-7024M» is designed for automated optical scanning and recognition of the content of passport-visa documents. The device reads data from the machine-readable zone (MRZ), RFID microchips and recognizes the visual zone of the document. It supports ID-1, ID-2, ID-3 formats.
The device is widely used in hotel systems for automatic guest registration, in banking institutions for client identification and at airports for passport control.
The «SPV-7024M» reader is a basic component of the automated workstation for special document verification (ARM SPD) and its extended version ARM SPD-K.
The device is a compact desktop unit intended for use as part of automated workstations (AWS) of registration and analysis systems (hotel, banking, insurance, etc.).

The reader consists of an optical system comprising a camera, a set of mirrors and illuminators, as well as a contactless reader for data from the RFID microchip embedded in the document, while ensuring RFID microchip detection and data reading regardless of the chip location within the document pages.

An important advantage of the device is the full automation of the document verification process. Data processing begins immediately after the document is detected in the reading area. The distinctive features of the «SPV-7024M» are improved, compared with analogues, quality of the generated images — image resolution (2048×1536), elimination of glare from laminate and holograms for white and infrared illumination schemes, and color correction of the obtained UV images.
Sequence of operation
- The optical reader automatically detects the presence of a document in the scanning area;
- Starts the machine-readable zone reading mechanism;
- Generates images in the working illumination schemes. Simultaneously reads information from contactless (RFID) microchips;
- Generates processing results for further use.
