Automated workstation for special document verification «ARM SPD»

The automated workstation for special document verification (ARM SPD) is designed for expert examination of documents, verification of their authenticity and automated recording of verification procedures. The ARM SPD is a set of specialized hardware and software for in-depth verification of printing, technological and physical-chemical security features of documents.

Application: border control (including together with APM ASPK automatic passage modules), security services, law enforcement agencies, banks, consulates, forensic examination units. For field conditions, the portable device PTSPK is used.

The automated workstation for special document verification (ARM SPD) performs tasks of collecting and analyzing information from passport-visa documents and other identity documents. The ARM SPD works with electronic passports with RFID microchips and provides comprehensive document authenticity verification.

The main idea of our development is in-depth, expert examination of documents by checking the authenticity of printing, technological and physical-chemical security features using images in the white, infrared and ultraviolet ranges of the spectrum.

Main functions of the product

• Comparison of the presenter and the document holder (photo verification);
• Scanning of pages of machine-readable passport-visa documents, automatic text recognition and filling of user form fields of the specialized software;
• Saving images of document pages and their security elements in a centralized database for the possibility of exchanging and applying the obtained information;
• Formation of reference books and classifiers to reduce the time for solving routine tasks;
• Performing special document verification according to generated templates;
• Providing access to information of previously completed special document verification tasks;
• Working with information and reference systems, including those containing descriptions of the verified security elements;
• Formation of reporting documents reflecting the results of the performed work.

The ARM SPD is easy to use. Its full configuration and assembly is performed by us, so it «works out of the box». The specialized hardware and software included in its composition fully automate the special document verification procedure.

Technical components of the ARM SPD

Passport-visa document reader «SPV-7024M»

It is the basic technical component. It allows obtaining images of documents in ID-1, ID-2, ID-3 formats in the visible (white), infrared and ultraviolet ranges and is equipped with a module for reading contactless microchips (RFID) integrated into the document.

Video spectral comparator «Regula» 4305DMH

Along with the «SPV-7024M» device, it is a basic technical component. It is designed for more detailed examination of documents up to 202×113 mm in size. It also allows obtaining, editing and saving the resulting digital images of the examined objects.

Spectral luminescent microscope «Regula» 5001MK.01

Its presence in the ARM is optional. It is designed for in-depth forensic examinations. It allows examining the microrelief of a document in shadowless illumination using ring illuminators, as well as in visible (white), ultraviolet and infrared light.

Software «Expert SPD»

The built-in software «Expert SPD» provides for processing of all video images obtained by the specialized technical components of the ARM SPD.

Along with the main functions of the «Expert SPD» software aimed at performing special document verification, the following is provided:

1. The possibility of simultaneous data access for several users when using remote database deployment of the program;
2. Saving the results of all performed examinations;
3. Prompt access to stored information;
4. Increased speed of document examination due to automation of entering information from the document;
5. Output of the required examination results on paper in the form of a preconfigured report.

An obvious advantage of the ARM SPD is the possibility of its production in several modifications depending on the requirements and purposes of use. The basic modification allows comparing the presenter and the document holder and examining the protection of the document substrate and printing protection.
