History of Cisco
Cisco was founded in 1984 in Stanford, California. The company's first product was a multiprotocol router that allowed networks using different protocols to be connected. In 1990, Cisco went public on the NASDAQ exchange. In the 2000s, the company actively expanded its portfolio through acquisitions, including Cerent Corporation (optical equipment), Scientific-Atlanta (cable equipment) and Webex (video conferencing).
