History of Dr.Web

Doctor Web was founded in 1992 by Igor Danilov, who in 1988 created one of the first antivirus programs in the USSR. Dr.Web antivirus became the first commercial antivirus product in Russia. In 1994, Dr.Web received an FSTEC certificate, followed by an FSB certificate, which made it mandatory for use in government institutions.

Today Dr.Web is one of the largest Russian antivirus software developers, and its products are used in more than 60 countries worldwide.
