History of Dell

Dell was founded in 1984 as PC's Limited, then renamed Dell Computer Corporation in 1988. Michael Dell started the business by selling computers he assembled directly to customers, bypassing retail networks. This direct sales model became Dell's key competitive advantage.

In 2016, Dell merged with EMC Corporation, creating Dell Technologies — one of the world's largest suppliers of solutions for data centers and enterprise infrastructure. Today, Dell Technologies has more than 130,000 employees worldwide and revenue exceeding 90 billion dollars.
