ATEN Company History

ATEN International was founded in 1979. Over decades of operation the company has become one of the world leaders in KVM switches and AV solutions. The ATEN portfolio includes more than 600 product models. The company holds over 500 patents in the fields of KVM, AV and power distribution. ATEN products are represented in more than 120 countries worldwide.

ATEN develops several brands: ATEN (the core brand for KVM and AV solutions), IOGEAR (consumer products) and ATEN Professional AV (solutions for the professional AV market).

ATEN Product Categories

KVM Switches and KVM-over-IP

ATEN KVM switches allow managing multiple computers or servers from a single workstation. Key series:

CS (Desktop KVM): desktop switches for 2-16 ports. Support for USB 3.0, 4K @ 60 Hz, audio;
KL (KVM-over-IP): remote server management over an IP network. Support for TLS, LDAP/AD, two-factor authentication;
KE (KVM-over-IP Extender): KVM signal extenders for remote control;
SN (Console Servers): management of serial ports (RS-232/485) of network equipment.

ATEN industrial console servers of the SN34xx series are used in automation systems, transportation and energy for remote access to serial ports of equipment.

Managed PDU (Power Distribution)

ATEN PDUs (Power Distribution Units) are designed for power distribution in server racks and cabinets. Main series:

PE (Basic PDU): power distribution without remote management;
PG (Managed PDU): managed PDUs with individual outlet power on/off, monitoring of current, voltage and wattage via SNMP, HTTP, Modbus;
PN (Intelligent PDU): intelligent PDUs with built-in monitoring of power parameters on each outlet, including current, voltage and consumption.

ATEN intelligent PDUs allow centralized tracking of server cabinet load and prompt response to overloads. Temperature and humidity sensors are supported.

AV Systems and Video Equipment

ATEN AV solutions are designed for conference rooms, lecture halls and video surveillance systems:

VM (Matrix Switches): matrix switches for HDMI, DP, VGA video signal switching with support for 4K HDR, HDCP 2.2;
VE (Extenders): signal extenders for video transmission over twisted pair (HDBaseT) up to 100 m;
VP (Presentation Systems): wireless presentation systems for conference rooms;
ATEN Video-over-IP: a technology for video transmission over IP networks for scalable AV systems.

ATEN Technologies

ATEN Edge — Remote Management Platform

ATEN Edge is a software platform for remote management of IT infrastructure via KVM-over-IP, PDU and console servers. It provides centralized access to servers and network equipment from a single web interface.

HDBaseT — Signal Transmission over Twisted Pair

ATEN AV solutions use HDBaseT technology, which allows transmitting video, audio, control and power over a single Cat5e/Cat6 cable up to 100 meters.

Over-IP Technologies

KVM-over-IP and Video-over-IP solutions provide equipment control and video signal transmission over standard IP networks without the need to lay specialized cables.

Server farm management: KVM-over-IP provides remote access to servers in data centers, reducing failure response time and minimizing the need for physical presence in the server room;
Power monitoring and management: managed PDUs allow remote restart of hung equipment and collection of telemetry for DCIM systems;
